1. Open the Noteless Chrome Extension
Go to the browser tab where you want to use Noteless, for example the EHR system you are logged into.
The first time you use the extension:
If the tab was already open when the Noteless Web Extension was installed, you need to refresh the page. This allows the website to load the extension correctly.
Then click the Noteless icon in the top-right corner of your browser. Noteless will open in a small window on the right side of the screen. Here you can choose between:
Consultation – used during patient consultations when you want to generate a clinical note
Dictation – used when you want to dictate free text
2. Start a consultation
Before you begin, make sure the correct microphone and language are selected.
Select the correct microphone if you have more than one available.
Select the correct language.
Click Consultation.
Choose whether it is an in-person or video consultation.
Allow browser access to your microphone if prompted.
Start the consultation as usual.
Noteless will begin listening to and transcribing the conversation. You can use this for both video consultations and in-person consultations, as long as the microphone can capture the conversation.
3. Pause and resume the consultation
If you want to temporarily stop the recording during the consultation, click the pause button.
4. Finish the consultation
When the consultation is complete, click Generate note. Noteless will create a structured clinical note based on the conversation and the template you have selected.
5. Change the note template
You can choose which template Noteless should use when generating the clinical note.
To change the template before the note is generated, click the settings icon to the left of the Generate note button. Then select the template you want to use.
You can also change the template after the note has been generated:
Click the three dots to the right of the Copy button.
Select Regenerate.
You will see an overview of the templates available to you.
Select the template you want to use.
Noteless will then regenerate the note using the selected template.
6. Use the note in your EHR system
Once the note is ready, you can transfer it to your EHR system in one of the following ways:
Autofill – Noteless automatically inserts the content into the correct fields in supported EHR systems.
Copy and paste – copy the note from Noteless and paste it manually into the relevant field in your EHR system.
