What are assistant modes?

What are assistant modes in Noteless?

Assistant modes are different specialized variants of the same Noteless assistant. The core functionality is always the same, but each mode has additional knowledge and understanding within a specific domain.

You can think of modes as the assistant “putting on a different professional hat” depending on the task.

Why are there different modes?

Some tasks require more than general language understanding.
That’s why Noteless has dedicated modes trained on:

  • Typical forms and structures

  • Professional background knowledge

  • Examples of good and expected responses

The result is more precise, relevant, and correctly structured answers—tailored to both the professional context and the recipient.

Examples of assistant modes

Summary mode

Used when you have a large amount of text that needs to be made clear and concise.

  • Good at summarizing long medical records, reports, or free text

  • Extracts the most important information

  • Presents content in a clear, readable, and structured way

Lab results / laboratory mode

Used for interpreting test results.

  • Understands the structure of typical lab reports

  • Recognizes abnormalities and reference ranges

  • Can present findings:

    • Clinically oriented for clinicians

    • Pedagogically adapted for patients

Do I need to select a mode manually?

No—usually not.

For example, if you write:

“Can you write a certificate for NAV based on this consultation?”

Noteless will automatically understand which mode is appropriate and apply it in the background.

When is it useful to click on a mode?

  • If you want to be absolutely sure the correct mode is being used

  • If you want to read more about what a specific mode does

  • If you prefer explicit control

Both approaches work equally well.

Who creates the assistant modes?

Currently, assistant modes are developed and trained by Noteless.

They are built by training the assistant on:

  • Forms

  • Professional background knowledge

  • High-quality examples of the desired output

Once a mode is ready, it becomes available for use.

👉 Do you have an idea for a new or improved mode?
Feel free to get in touch—input from clinicians is important for ongoing development.

In short

  • Assistant modes are the same Noteless assistant, but with specialized knowledge

  • They provide better structure, higher precision, and more accurate professional context

  • You usually don’t need to select a mode manually—Noteless does it for you

  • The buttons are a helpful tool, not a requirement
