What Are Custom Note Structures?

In short

The Library in Noteless is where you create and customize verbal triggers, note structures (which define how notes are generated), and assistant commands (writing rules that Noteless should follow).

With custom structures, you decide the structure (sections such as Presenting complaint, Findings, Assessment, Plan), the level of detail, the style (paragraphs or bullet points), and any custom guidelines you want Noteless to follow.

Where can I find it?

Go to the Library in the left-hand menu. Here you will find Note Structure.

At the top of this section, you can switch between your own templates and Noteless templates. The latter are templates created by us for you to use as a starting point.

How templates work

Select a standard template (for example SOAP) from the list of Noteless templates. Hover over the template, click the three dots, and select “Duplicate.”
You will now have your own copy of the template, which you can edit.

Alternatively, go to the list of your templates and click the “+” icon under Note Structure. Here, you can either write or upload your own template from scratch.

A template can include:

  • Title and description (for easy identification)

  • Instructions (e.g. “Use pronouns – do not write ‘the patient’”)

  • Sections with defined style (bullet points or paragraphs) and level of detail (normal or high)

Noteless shows ar preview (example note) as you make changes. This may take 5–15 seconds, depending on the amount of text.

Sharing and ownership

In the current version, newly created templates are private to you.
