Using a Verbal Trigger

Written by Sofie Skuland

Using a Verbal Trigger

  1. Start a consultation as normal.

  2. Simply say the trigger phrase out loud at the relevant point — e.g. Normal Abdomen.

  3. (Optional) Check that the phrase appears in the transcription to confirm it was captured.

  4. Click Generate Note. The trigger phrase is replaced with your predefined text block — in the example, it appears under Objective.

💡 For verbal triggers that do not naturally fit into the patient conversation, you can activate the phrase by saying the trigger after the patient has left the room but before generating the note. This allows you to verify that the trigger is transcribed correctly. This approach can be useful whether or not you believe the trigger was mentioned during the consultation, as it helps ensure that the desired phrases are included in the note.
